AudioQuest YIQ component video cables include three identical maximum performance coaxial cables, one for each of the three component signals; the “Y” (b&w) signal and the “I” and “Q” signals (also known as Pb and Pr), which contain all the color information. In the two channel S-video system (also known as Y/C), the “I” and “Q” component signals are combined to create a single “C” signal. When available, a three-channel component signal is better because it avoids the degradation caused by the process of combining and separating.
SOLID 6.1% SILVER CONDUCTORS: Solid conductors eliminate inter-strand distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high frequency applications, such as component video’s 30MHz+ signal. These signals, being such a high frequency travel, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high quality 75Ω cables. In order to achieve the best sound all digital audio conductors are controlled for directionality. >>More
